Description: The Tay people are the largest minority group in Viet Nam. They are related to
the Thai family of peoples, and most closely with the Zhuang of China. They
inhabit the northern mountainous part of Vietnam, dwelling in small villages
along valleys and slopes.
Prayer Points:
• Mahayana buddhism is beginning to gain inroads among the Tay people. Pray for protection against this influence and that the spiritual need drawing the Tay to Buddhism would be found in Christ alone.
• The Tay are being forced to assimliate into Vietnamese culture and society. Pray for supernatural protection over the hearts and minds of Tay children being educated in communist schools.
• The evangelical Church in Viet Nam is growing rapidly and developing a missionary vision. Pray for those God has called to reach the Tay that they would be equipped and sent with his love, power and wisdom.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, draw the Tay into your eternal purpose. May the beauty and majesty of your Son capture their hearts.
Every year 17,000 Tay die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
