January 21 / Senoufo Mamara

Description: The Senoufo Mamara are a large people group inhabiting the Sikasso region of Mali. They are related to the Gur cluster of peoples, which includes around 70 ethno-linguistic groups such as the Mossi and Gurma. The Senoufo are in the process of transitioning from animism to Islam, which has grown significantly among them in the last few decades. The Senoufo Mamara have one of the highest percentages of Islam among all the Senoufo subgroups.

Prayer Points:
• The New Testament was recently completed in the Senoufo Mamara language. Pray for its acceptance and widespread use.
• Literacy rates among the Senoufo Mamara are less than 15%. Pray for specialized ministry to meet this need.
• Senoufo men are part of secret societies which prepare them for leadership roles. Pray that the Holy Spirit would impact these groups and that they might become Christ-centered.

A Prayer: Heavenly Father, be exalted among the Senoufo Mamara. Let your glory be manifest among them through Jesus Christ.

Every year 10,000 Senoufo Mamara die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
