Description: The Iranian diaspora is one of the wealthiest in the world, with an estimated net work of over 1.2 trillion dollars. Most of them migrated in the aftermath of the Iranian Islamic Revolution in 1980. Those that were able to escape this were primarily professionals and the upper class.
Prayer Points:
• Iran has allowed over 50,000 students to study abroad, mostly in the West. The United States has an estimated 7,000 Iranian college students. Pray for effective outreach to these by Christian campus ministries, and that those who believe might return as Christian leaders to their country.
• Iranians are one of the most response diasporas in the world to the gospel, and many churches have been established in the last ten years. Pray for more intentional efforts to reach them during this time of harvest, and that a strong Persian Christian leadership would develop to pastor and plant new churches.
• A significant number of Christian satellite broadcasts are being developed by overseas Iranians, and a number of Persian-led ministries have emerged in the diaspora to support the growing movement within Iran. Pray for God's blessing on these efforts and for the protection of these ministries from unbiblical doctrines and practices.
